  7. Minutes of the Service Location Protocol Working Group (svrloc)
  8.  
  9. We made significant progress in narrowing the scope of this Working
  10. Group and the protocol that we are trying to design.
  11.  
  12. We arrived at the decision to limit the scope of this Group to an
  13. administrative domain that we defined as an area which is equivalent to
  14. the area served by a binding broker (a central site to manage the
  15. service topology of the area).  Outside of that area the scaling and
  16. naming issues are left to the directory services in place.
  17.  
  18. Scott Kaplan from FTP Software and John Veizades from Apple will be
  19. working on an architectural document for presentation to the Working
  20. Group list by the next meeting.  Scott Bradnor from Harvard and Greg
  21. Bruell from Shiva offered to comment on preliminary versions of the
  22. document.
  23.  
  24. Scott and John met after the meeting and made significant progress on
  25. the architecture.
